Current vacancies
We currently have vacancies for:-
- Bass trombone – closing date for applications is 1st Dec 2025.
Auditions will be on our rehearsal dates in January 2026. Please send your CV detailing previous experience to Karen Hardy using our contact form. Do read the membership information and note that all of our members pay a membership fee.
- Strings – Upper Strings and Percussion.
Anyone interested should contact Karen Hardy via the contact form. Please see Members’ Info for details of rehearsals, concerts and membership rules. Auditions generally take place by inviting players to join a rehearsal when the conductor, section leader and committee will make a decision about a players standard.
About the Orchestra
The Leicester Symphony Orchestra is made up of about 80 musicians of all ages. New players of a good standard are invited to join where there is a vacancy. Please refer to the list of current vacancies above. Please refer to the Subscriptions section on the website for current subscriptions rates. An extensive repertoire of 19th and 20th century symphonic music is performed.
