Current vacancies
We currently have vacancies for:-
- Brass – Trombone section leader. Closing date 1st August 2026.
Please use our contact form to send Karen Hardy your CV or email detailing your previous experience and confirm you have read the Members’ Rules and that you are available for all the concerts and rehearsals from 20th September 2026 onwards. Please note in your audition you will be asked how you will approach the role of section leader in accordance with our membership rules. Karen will also answer any questions if you have them. Audition arrangements will be made with short-listed candidates.
- Strings – Upper Strings and Percussion.

Auditions generally take place by inviting players to join a rehearsal when the conductor, section leader and committee will make a decision about a players standard.

About the Orchestra
The Leicester Symphony Orchestra is made up of about 80 musicians of all ages. New players of a good standard are invited to join where there is a vacancy. Please refer to the list of current vacancies above. Please refer to the Subscriptions section on the website for current subscriptions rates. An extensive repertoire of 19th and 20th century symphonic music is performed.
